Q: What should I know about taking care of my healing
amulets?
A: STORING YOUR AMULET. To minimize the amount of tarnish,
store your pet's amulet in the Ziploc-type bag that accompanies
your order when the animal is not wearing the amulet. Tarnish
can make your silver look anywhere from an odd brass color, to a
copper color, and even to black. If your pet is not drinking
enough water, its skin will most likely release toxins which
tarnish the silver. The condition of your amulet is a good
indicator of your pet's health.
Avoid storing your amulet directly on wood surfaces, because
wood contains acids that can mar your amulet’s finish. Oak seems
to be the worst wood for this. Also, avoid placing your amulet
alongside other metals, like pennies, and rubber—these, too, can
cause tarnish and damage.
Each handcrafted Healing Pet Jewelry amulet can take a certain
amount of punishment, but it is possible to bend the wire design
if you’re not careful. Before allowing your pet to do any
rough-housing or physically-challenging activities, consider
removing the amulet from your pet's collar or bridle during
strenuous activities.
We also advise that you remove your pet's handcrafted jewelry
before swimming, or bathing. Some stones become dull or
disintegrate during excessive exposure to water.
CLEANING YOUR JEWELRY. The easiest way to clean dust and
dirt from your amulet is to swirl it around in a small mixture
of Dawn dish soap and water. If you’re extremely gentle and
careful, you may use a soft toothbrush to get in-between the
stones. Rinse thoroughly in clear water and then make sure it’s
absolutely dry before storing it in a Ziploc bag. Cleaning your
amulet not only clears the dirt away, but it *resets* and
cleanses the vibrational level of the stones that might have
picked up negative energies throughout the day or evening. NEVER
USE silver dip or silver paste since those products could ruin
your stones.
Use an old soft toothbrush that you run under water, and
then scrub your jewelry piece lengthwise to reduce the chance
for scratches and marring the surface. Rinse in cool water.
Remember that toothpaste has abrasive material in it, so use it
sparingly. Hint: White toothpaste works the best; avoid colored
toothpastes that are red, green, or red-white-and-blue.
VIBRATIONAL CLEARING FOR YOUR JEWELRY.
When your amulet starts feeling bad, or appears not to be
working, then it needs clearing. How will you know this? You may
notice that your pet acts as if he or she is feeling pain.
Relating this to humans, you might feel pain in your hand if you
put on a vibrationally-dirty bracelet or ring. Likewise, you
might feel pain in your chest or neck area if your earrings,
pendant, or necklace have picked up too much negative energy.
The same is true for animals and amulets.
Sometimes a piece picks up *funk* from your environment. For
example, live concerts, other people's homes, and festival
events are extremely funky environments because the consumption
of alcohol causes the dirt in people's auras to float around.
Haunted places run amok with *funk* both because they are
usually in geopathic zones, and because ghosts like to "slime"
people—making energy fields dirty to both keep someone from
being aware and to make someone physically sick. The known *de-funker*
stones (clear quartz or orange carnelian) usually don’t need
cleaning, and wearing one or keeping one next to your healing
stones will tend to keep your energy field and amulets clean.
The de-funker stones will also automatically cleanse the other
crystals and transmute any negative energy that they may be
holding.
The Hematite stone especially needs clearing on a daily basis.
Failure to clear it often can bring on headaches and body aches,
and eventually the piece will blow up or shatter. If you really
love wearing Hematite for protection of all types of negativity,
make sure you buy two stones. Keep one clearing next to a Quartz
crystal stone while you wear the other, and then rotate them
every day. Hematite is very brittle, so even a little funk is
very destructive.
Additionally, you can clear your healing stones or amulets by
placing them in a glass dish for three hours. Don’t ever place
your healing stones or pieces in metal or iron dishes or
containers. They cannot clear and reset themselves that way.
STORING AND CLEARING YOUR INDIVIDUAL HEALING STONES. The
healing stones that we hand select for our amulets are strong
and durable under most normal handling conditions. The best way
to store your healing stones is in a cloth bag. Our stones do
not scratch easily so you can keep them together, ready for use
at any time. These stones do need to be cleared periodically by
running them under water or placing them in the sunshine.
All of our healing stone amulets can be popped into a pocket,
placed into a silver spiral holder, kept on your desk, by your
bed, or they can be displayed in a glass dish anywhere in your
home or office. You might also want to place a Blue Lace Agate
Stone in your car to help your safe journey and to ward of
impatience with other drivers or traffic jams. Blue lace agate
is a calm-inducing stone.
Q: Can you recommend specific stones that will address an
illness or emotional issue that I have?
A: The short answer is yes. Since there are over 2,000
remedies that my healing stones can work for, I recommend that

illness, or where the pain resides, or any emotional issue

Q: You talk about activating the stones when I receive them.
How do I do that, and what's the purpose behind it? Can't I just
attach the amulet to my pet's collar or bridle without doing
anything?
A: The purpose behind activating your healing stones and
crystals is so that you can receive the highest energies from
your stones as well as dedicating them to do their work for your
pet's self-healing. Naturally, if you choose not to activate the
stones, they will still do their work since they’re from the
mineral kingdom and always carry out their purpose. However, it
is YOUR purposeful intention that activates the stones to work
as healers on any level your pet may need now or at any time in
the future.
ACTIVATING YOUR STONES. To activate your healing stones,
hold the stones or amulet in your hands. Close your eyes and
concentrate on the stones. See them surrounded in bright white
light. Ask that they be attuned to your pet's unique frequency
and that you specifically want them to ... (fill in the blank
with your intention). Make sure that you know beforehand what
the stone's healing properties are before stating your

Q: What types of wire do you use for your handcrafted
wire-wrapped and strung jewelry?
A: We use five types of wire: 14KT Rolled Gold Wire
(gold-filled); Sterling Silver Wire (.925 silver);
Non-Tarnishing Sterling Silver Wire; and Silver and Gold Plated
wire and components.
14KT Rolled Gold Wire is very strong and durable. It is not gold
plate. It has one-hundred times the amount of gold than does
gold plate. The sterling silver wire is very beautiful and more
economical than solid 14KT, 18KT, or 22KT gold wire. Our
tarnish-resistant wire has many advantages over sterling silver
wire. It includes an annealed hardness equal to standard
sterling silver but requires minimal maintenance.
Q: On your web site, you state that you send healing Reiki
life force energy into each stone before it’s shipped. What does
that mean exactly and why should I care?
A: Reiki is a Japanese technique that reduces stress,
invokes peaceful relaxation and it also promotes healing. It is
based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows
through us and is what causes us to be alive. If your "life
force energy" is low, then you are more likely to get sick or
feel stress, and if it is high, you are more capable of feeling
happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words-Rei, which
means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power," and Ki which is "life
force energy." Thus, Reiki is actually "spiritually-guided life
force energy."
When I clear, cleanse and package each Healing Pet Jewelry
amulet, I invoke Reiki life force energy to that piece so that
its highest intentions go with it as it travels to your hands.
In addition, I send Reiki energy to each stone, based on the
stone’s known intention. For example, if you wrote to me saying
that you had just been diagnosed with cancer and were having a
hard time going through chemotherapy, I would suggest a Smoky
Quartz stone or amulet that contained Smoky Quartz, since it is
known to protect against radiation and it takes a person’s
energy to the most perfect state possible, going back to before
the disease set in. It also provides pain relief while it
cleanses, enhances, and protects the organs. Any type of quartz
stone is a master healer and can be used for any condition since
it stimulates the immune system and brings the body into
balance.
Q: How do healing stones (crystals) work?
A: As Judy Hall, author of The Crystal Bible states, "and
crystals work through the transmission of energy and the
adjustment of subtle vibrations. Crystals absorb, focus,
transmute and transmit electromagnetic energy; after all, they
have lain within the Earth's magnetic field for millennia.
They're like cosmic transceivers, stepping cosmic energy down
from the spiritual level so that it can be absorbed and used by
the physical body. It is not certain, though, how this energy is
passed between the crystal in the human body.
The subtle bodies (collectively known as the aura, biomagnetic
sheath or etheric body) that surround the physical body are
formed from energies that have a lighter vibration than the
physical body and are therefore invisible, but the physical body
itself, which consists largely of water—an excellent medium for
the transmission of vibration—sends extremely subtle vibrational
signals through its nerves and neural pathways. The subtle
bodies are linked to the physical body by the chakras—centers
which mediate and distribute energy. But these can become
blocked, which leads to subtle disease, which have not been
brought back into equilibrium and can eventually lead to
physical disease.
Q: What Are The Causes Of Disease?
A: Disease is caused by the following factors:
- DAMAGED IMMUNE SYSTEM. The immune system is the
front line of defense against disease. If it is not
functioning well, then disease and organisms invade the
body.
- SHOCK OR ATTACK. If your pet receives a shock,
whether it is at the physical, emotional or mental level,
the chakras go out of balance and the body reacts. If your
pet is attacked, whether by viruses or by someone's
thoughts, disease results.
- STRESS AND TENSION. Anything which puts a
continual stress on your pet's system and which causes
inadequate rest will ultimately manifest as physical
illness.
- EMOTIONAL EXHAUSTION. If your pet has been
continually drained by a person or a situation, then s/he
has a lowered resistance to disease.
- ANXIETY OR FEAR. Chronic anxiety and continual
fear weaken the body. Anxiety is usually accompanied by loss
of appetite and irregular sleeping patterns. If depression
is involved, medication may suppress underlying feelings
causing disease.
Q: How can I best help my pet combat disease?
A: To combat disease, use healing stones on a daily basis.
Choose to let him or her wear the amulet for seven days. See if
the condition improves. When you’re happy with the results, then
choose another healing gemstone amulet and let him or her wear
that one for seven days. At night when your pet sleeps, you may
remove the amulet and place it within three feet where he or she
sleeps—on your bedside table, or on any surface close to where
your pet sleeps.
Healing gemstones provide a gentle, non-invasive form of healing
that cooperates with your pet's body’s inner healer, a repair
mechanism that brings things back into balance or homeostasis.
Working through vibration, and resonance in color, healing
stones heal holistically and dissolve disease. That is to say,
they act on your pet's body, mind, psyche and spirit to restore
equilibrium and rectify the underlying causes of a condition.
Although healing stones work quickly for minor ailments, other
conditions can take longer to heal. The habits of a lifetime and
